Clark's return trip brought his contingent through the Miles City area in 1806 on the Yellowstone River. Decorated in the spirit of the Plains Indian culture, this room features art and artifacts that celebrate the life and times of famed Hunkpapa medicine man Sitting Bull—who frequented the Miles City area and the Yellowstone River plain. According to decendant Ernie LaPointe, Sitting bull was born south of Miles City, somewhere in the Pumpkin Creek watershed area.

GEORGE CUSTER ROOM $119.00 per night

The George A. Custer Room commemorates the career of Lt. Colonel Custer, most notably his time in Eastern Montana. Custer and the 7th Cavalry came through the Miles City area twice: in 1873 and in 1876. Companies of the 7th under Custer's command fought Sioux and Cheyenne warriors in August of '73 on the north side of the Yellowstone River just west of modern Miles City. In 1876, Custer made his fateful march to the Little Bighorn and along the way, camped within what is now the city limits of Miles City, on the south bank of the Yellowstone.

The Evelyn Cameron Honeymoon Suite is themed on the local notable British emigrant and photographer who made her home near Terry, Montana and documented Eastern Montana's homesteading families, ranchers and farmers. Evelyn's photographs recorded the tough and often rewarding life of the souls who endeavoured to scratch out a living on the prairie.
