AUNT MAES ROOM $149.00 per night
Booking Icon
Aunt Mae’s Room is an artist’s space with a warm color wash on the walls and green exterior shutters over the five windows in this bedroom. Aunt Mae’s Room has a queen-size bed and a twin. It’s a custom-made alcove twin or day bed which provides a separate bed for double occupancy or a third person. Inasmuch as it is custom made, the measurements are 75 inches (190.5 cm) long and 32 inches (81.28 cm) wide. It’s a little smaller than a twin so it’s meant for an average or smallish guest.

Aunt Mae’s room has a bar size refrigerator, iron and ironing board, a coffee/tea station which is just outside your door and a desk for work.

All of our rooms have Wifi and cable TV.

The bath is across the hall and is private to you. The reward for an across-the-hall private bath is that you’re the only one who has a deep, original to the house (c. 1890), claw footed Victorian tub in which to soak your willing body, or just your feet . . . Or, if you’re on a 21st century schedule, it has a shower head as well.

We’ve included several shots from the photo gallery to give you a feel for the room.

Come see us in the heart of Houston!

Antonio’s Suite is an artist’s room. It is bold, artsy and cozy. Vibrant colors, eclectic decor. Dramatic, romantic, but not lonely if there is just one of you, perhaps because its personality is so strong you don’t need anyone else . . . It is a three-room suite with a queen in the main bedroom, a chaise longue that can sleep a child or smallish adult in the second bedroom which doubles as a kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot. The hardwood floors are the original Long Leaf Pine c.1890, now extinct.

Antonio’s Room resides at the top of the stairs along with two other bed and breakfast rooms (Cecelia and Aunt Mae) in the Big Nest.

This suite is good for weekend getaways, long term, extended rentals, honeymoons or business trips.

Come see us in the heart of Houston.

BARBARA JOYCES ROOM $179.00 per night
Booking Icon
Bold, warm colors bathe this room. If you’re planning a romantic night, or to close a business deal, this is the room that will give your adrenalin an extra drop or two.

It is detached from the main house. It’s in the second house (c.1920) of Robin’s Nest called “The Little Nest”, toward the back of the property.

A queen bed, original art, a small French pedestal table for an intimate chat, or work if you must. It was Robin’s dining room table when she lived in Paris in the 60s.

A whirlpool for two . . . or just you. A deserved treat after a hard days’ work. Personal size frig with a coffee and tea station adjacent. Cable tv, clock radio, wireless internet. etc.

CINDYS ROOM $179.00 per night
Booking Icon
A cozy, creative space with soft, rich, earth tones. A queen bed, the bed and wall treatments are custom sewn by Robin, original art, stand alone shower and a whirlpool for two . . . or just you. Great after a long day. Small frig with a coffee and tea station. Cable TV, wi-fi

Cindy’s Room is used frequently for wedding nights and honeymooners. However, like Barbara Joyce’s Room, it’s also used by our guests who are here to work, and need the private time such a space offers. Cindy’s is next to the office, so there’s some foot traffic after 10 a.m. and until 5 p.m. during the week.

Fronted by its original porch, it’s convenient for watching the immediate world go by in Houston’s Historical District in its inner city. It’s a walking neighborhood. We are in the center of the Museum and Arts District, also called Montrose.

This is a comfortable, homey, space. It’s geared to extended stays; honeymooners and weekend getaways. — it’s secluded, comfortable, and unique – in keeping with a 1920s Craftsman Cottage. It sits behind the 1898 Victorian (“The Big Nest”), and is in “The Little Nest”. Rustic Robin is a very cozy space (about 500 sq. ft.) somewhat the feel of an upscale cabin.

Bedding consists of a queen size bed and a twin bed in the second bedroom. We use top of the line hotel mattresses.

Besides seating around a great, rustic, old kitchen table, the kitchen has a full size refrigerator, gas stove, microwave. It also has a washer and dryer.

The furniture is eclectic antique, from the 1920s and 30s.
